Come and make a Leggy Pot!

Did you know that in the beginning handbuilding was how all pottery was created?  The wonderful thing about handbuilding is that all that is needed to make beautiful objects are clay, your hands, and perhaps a few simple tools. Although even these are not essential. In this workshop you will learn these ancient techniques, still relevant today, and come away with skills you can use to make just about any ceramic piece.

You will be guided to make two of your own individual pair of leggy pots in this all-day hand building class. Your pots will be returned to you in a few weeks, glazed and fired, ready for your plants or treasures.

Over one day Lea will take through the process of building and decorating your leggy pots from start to finish. You will be guided on the design and hand building of your pots using coil and pinch pot construction. Lea will also teach you how to attach feet and decorate with texture and colour, using a few different techniques such as stamping, sgraffito, slips and underglazes and carving.

This class is suitable for total beginners and those wanting to try new things and is limited to 6 people.
