Cup in spotty white
Cup in spotty white
Handmade stoneware ceramic mug.
Inspired by mid century design this cup is made with an earthy clay and fired in a reduction kiln to provide the distinctive speckle, as part of our Forest range. Glazed in mist white with an overglaze black dot pattern and a feature of exposed clay at the base.
A reduction firing is where the chemistry of the clay and glaze is manipulated during firing by starving the kiln of oxygen. This process draws the iron out of the body of the earthy clay I use and creates the much loved speckle.
Perfect for lovers of strong small cups of coffee or tea with approximately 270 ml capacity.
Dimensions are approximately 8cm high and 8cm at the rim, not including the handle.
Please note these cups are handmade and each one is slightly different. Your order is not for this exact cup, however it will be much the same, like all good handmade items.
