Handmade stoneware mostly stacking ceramic mug.

Inspired by mid century design this cup is made with an earthy clay and fired in a reduction kiln to provide the distinctive speckle. It is called mostly stacking because most of them will stack with a pair or a set.  Being individually handmade there is a chance though that they won't stack both ways.

Glazed in alpine blue with an overglaze black line pattern and a feature of exposed clay at the base.

A reduction firing is where the chemistry of the clay and glaze is manipulated during firing by starving the kiln of oxygen. This process draws the iron out of the body of the earthy clay I use and creates the much loved speckle.

Perfect for lovers of strong small cups of coffee or tea with approximately 250 ml capacity.

Dimensions are approximately 8cm high and 8.5cm at the rim, not including the handle.

Please note these cups are handmade and each one is slightly different.  This listing is for the actual cup shown.
