We all need a place to keep our precious things.  Imagine having one you have made yourself, just yours and beautiful. Come and make a small lidded box in this hand building class.

The wonderful thing about handbuilding is that all that is needed to make beautiful objects are clay, your hands, and perhaps a few simple tools. Although even these are not essential. In this workshop you will learn these ancient techniques, still relevant today, and come away with skills you can use to make just about any ceramic piece.

Over 2 1/2 hours Lea will take through the process of crafting your very own small lidded box from a choice of two clays.

You will learn how to make your box using carving, coil and pinching techniques and make your box with the one you like best. Lea will also teach you how to make a knob or button opening and how to make a lid that fits and stays on. You will also be shown how to decorate your box with stamps, carving and colour, using a few different techniques.

Your box will be glazed, in the glaze of your choice, fired and returned to you, ready for your treasures
